New Vision.

So last week we had the utmost privilege of going to Lira for a week. It was an intense week of sharing the gospel and discipling those that we think could be leaders in small groups. The Lord had favor on us. We pressed in hard, walking the streets of Lira for 7-9 hours a day, looking for the ones that the Lord highlighted, and being obedient to follow through and start a conversation with that person. But Jesus was faithful to us as we were faithful to him. 20 people received salvation. We maybe led 10 of those to Christ ourselves. The rest were individuals that the people we talked to shared with. They had already begun reproducing in one weeks time! Hopefully I’ll share specific stories soon…

We came back from Lira reenvisioned. In Lira our filter was much finer. We would sift through people and find those that will carry the vision well. And if someone doesn’t want to carry the vision of reproducing the gospel in others and beginning small groups, then we move on to find that one that will. It caused us to have much favor and success. We completed as much in 1 week as we have in 7 here in Gulu. Something began to click in my brain. What I am doing in Gulu needs to match what happened in Lira. 20 people received salvation in one week in Lira. 24 received salvation in one month in Gulu. How are we really filtering??

Yesterday we began to work hard in Gulu. We began to work harder and filter finer. We had to say goodbye to some that we were discipling, but they weren’t carrying the vision.

Pray for us as we start back at “square one” again here in Gulu. Pray that we find the ones that will carry our vision well.
